Have your family plant a tree in your neighborhood! Trees use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and produce oxygen, meaning they provide cleaner air containing less CO2. Additionally, planting a tree can serve as a powerful environmental lesson for children by allowing them to realize first hand the impact of their actions upon the environment. The average person emits 26 tons of CO2 per year, so by planting more trees, we can help to offset our own carbon emissions while giving the environment a break!

Make sure you have a good spot to plant and let the magic begin! In addition to offsetting CO2, planting a tree is a great way to gain some shade during the summer!
